Arelle V. White Things to do in El Nido, Palawan
February 22nd, 2013
Arelle V. White El Nido is one of the most beautiful places you can visit in the Philippines. It’s a real gem that’s quiet hard to find. Most people fly to Puerto Princesa from Manila, Cebu, Clark or Davao then board an Aircon van to El Nido for the next 5 hours. Midway, the van takes a rest stop for snacks and toilet break. It’s about 270 kilometers distance from Puerto to El Nido, of which 3/4th is cement and the last leg is dirt road. When you reach the town, it’s nothing spectacular, just a few roads with lots of stores next to each other, nothing fancy at all. But when you start Island Hopping, it’s when you will say, your five hour ordeal sitting on a van pays off!
This is what greets you! A breathtaking view of the crystal clear water and prestine white sand beaches with towering limestone as the backdrop. It’s a feast for the eyes….totally Splendid!
Things you can do in El Nido, Palawan
1. ISLAND HOPPING….There are 4 Tours that takes you to a designated destination. El Nido has about 45 islands and islands with 50 white sand beaches to go to. Choose a Tour A, B, C, or D! Try them all if you can. You can do one tour a day, so that’s 4 full days if you want to do all of it in one visit to El Nido. Wowislands Travel and Tours can help you out with the tours and hook you up in a nice boat with great food and excellent customer service.
2. Do an INLAND Tour – Visit the Falls, Nacpan Beach, Hotspring!
3. Visit Verde Safari Beach – This place is away from the El Nido town, very secluded and quiet. If you need a break from the crowd, and busyness of being around people in town, this place gets a thumbs up as a place to be.
4. Try Beach Camping! Feel like you are in Paradise with bare necessities and experience nature at it’s purest.
5. Rent a Bike and Explore. This is pretty much an in-land tour but you drive. There are plenty of bike rental places for about P700 for a day of using a 125cc Honda XRM.
7. Eat well. Fresh fish and other seafood are available in most restaurants. We love the Cadlao Resorts’s restaurant menu, we frequent Arts Cafe, El Nido Corner & Marbers.
8. Scuba Diving. Whether you are licensed or not, being in El Nido is a definite must dive place.
