Thanks to the very considerate U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service for granting my sister permission to travel out of the US and back to attend our fathers’ funeral which was approved within a day after presenting the Death Certificate.
My sister left for the U.S in November ‘05 on petition and is not supposed to travel out of the U.S. until her work permit is released or something, but the untimely death of our dad needed her to rejoin the family in Manila. It’s awesome that she was released a Multiple entry Visa for 12 months to be able to see Mom more within this period without affecting her immigration status and work permit processing.
Her 10-day visit enabled her to attend the wake for two more nights and the interment. And of course the rest of the day, going out with Family and keeping our mom surrounded by all her children. Words can’t express our appretiation to the U.S Immigration for making my family complete especially for Mom in a very difficult time.
Also, we thank the Emirates Airline Catering where my brother works as an Engineer for approving his Emergency Leave in one day notice, that enabled him to see and talk with our dad the night before he died.
We salute those offices for putting value to Family! God speed.
