Had Intradermal Injection today
School starts at 7am every Saturday and Sunday, don’t ask me what time I finish, urgh..up to 9PM all the way!
We had lessons and return demo on Intradermal, Subcutaneous and Intramuscular Injection today among others. My partner (who is a 17 year old teener) and I had to inject each other after our Nurse Instructor explained the procedure to us and conducted an actual demo to one of our classmates.
When it was my turn, I sat on the hot seat (the chair) that you have to sit on while another student, closely guided by the instructs injects on you a distilled water, and the rest of the class looking on.
I was watching bravely at my arm as I put it on the table, but by the time i saw the needle about to be put on me, I would pull my hand (lol), nervous? you bet. So the Professor, held my hand quite more firmly, as if to say, c’mon this is not going to hurt, and she turns my head on the other direction while she tells me not to look.
Well, i still tried to look, honestly it hurt, but in fairness, my classmate Mica did well injecting on me. As it comes to my turn to inject her, it was time…good for her lol…coz I’m not yet ready, il have to review my video of it to at least be confident enough to do it.
As we go, Prof. Myrna reminds us…do not practice on your maids…do it on tomatos lol…
