We all go through phases of our lives and depending on which part we are in, there is a certain level of care and needs that should be met for one to live a healthier and happier life. As a nursing student, I learned about the Maslow hierarchy of needs.
Maslow’s hierarch of needs talks about five (5) things, 1st priority is Physiological Needs, 2nd Safety, 3rd Love and Belonging, 4th Self Esteem and 5th Self-Actualization.
Pysiological needs include –Breathing, food, water, sex, sleep, homeostasis and excretion.
Safety needs are security of body, of employment, of resources, of morality, of the family, of healthy and of property
Love and Belonging are friendship, family and sexual intimacy
Esteem are self-esteem, confidence, achievement, respect of others, respect by others
And Self-actualization is morality, creativity, spontaneity, problem solving, lack of prejudice and acceptance of facts.
