The Ati-Atihan Festival highlights happens every third (3rd) weekend of January.

Im so glad to be in Kalibo at this time of the year to witness the Ati-Atihan festival which i last saw when i was still 5 years old. Came together with my Mom who hanged around with Tita Laurie her older sister. Also, my friends Janet Borja, Zed Go Aco, Luzette Romanillas and cousin Rene Rodriguez came along. It was a BLAST!!!

All streets were closed for motorists in the four corners of Aklan Town Plaza. One will surely notice the very beautiful and gigantic Tree in the midst of it that served as a good shade at high noon for tourists and locals enjoying the “Sad-sad” – Parade walk. This photo was taken the day before the highlight of the event where Ati-Atihan Festival participants already come in Tribal Costumes in black painted bodies.
Parading of Aklanons in Drums and themed shirts started Jan. 18. 2008. Almost all towns were represented as well as major Institutions like the Colleges and Major Organizations.

Alta Vista De Boracay developed by DMCI Homes, Inc is now operational. Alta Vista De Boracay is a Triple A Resort being managed by BRCYL International, a hotel management company also operating resorts in Hawaii. Rental Rates vary from $120 to $180 per day. It operates as a resort and a residential condominium unit. Unit owners have the option to live in it or enroll in the Hotel Operations to earn from rental incomes.

I really miss attending my leadership group at church (Victory Christian Church) in Galleria. My schedule the past months has kept me from attending our weekend meetings where i learn a lot about how to approach life with God as the center of it and apply what the bible says in practical ways.
I miss the wonderful people who have been instrumental to my spiritual growth and a source of encouragement, especially Ate Cel Carodan who is really nice and prays for us.
