I want to honor my Dad and greet him Happy Father’s day!
I know this greeting is long overdue (online), but i did of course
last June 21, 2009.

We can choose the friends we want to have but it’s God who chooses
who our parents will be. I am thankful for the father He chose for me.
Tito Robles Valla
My Dad, Tito Robles Valla passed away May of 2006, I will remember him to be a good man and father who always made time for us, available for questions we may have in school or just about anything, he allocated time to take us to dinners outside, bring us to the Carnival, go jogging with us, bring us out of town for swimming and fun almost every weekend.  He did what he could to reach out to us and level with us by playing with us as kids to establish and grow our relationship.  He knew how to make us laugh with his funny stories too.

My dad was a very good provider. Not only did he made sure we were provided with the basics in life despite our not being rich but he also gave what he knew we desired that were reasonable. Most often than not, i never really had to request, he would just surprise me and my siblings with what he hears or see us wishing for, and we grew up enjoying the so called “pasalubong” take home gifts (just small things like candies, or cheap toys).  Being the eldest daughter, he tags me along with him a lot, when he sees me looking at an item for a long time like i really wanted it, he would just buy it for me, like a dress, a shirt or a shoes. One time we was at a sport store, he saw my eyes fixed on some skates while he was buying a basket ball then after a few days, he just surprised me with it. He then would drive me and my family to the skating rink several times a week so I could learn and enjoy it.  We also had so many nights going to Luneta in Rizal Park
to just run around and slide.

But more than things, what he gave most  as expression of his love is providing guidance, advices and most of all prayer. Up to his very last breath, my dad was putting his hand on me and blessing me. He prayed for me to have a secured future, live my dreams and to have a  christian & loving husband who will take care of me because he no longer can’t and for me to live my purpose and destiny in Christ.

My dad is not perfect, but all the good that my father did outweighs any thing he may have done less.

After retiring from work, he went to a Bible school and studied Pastoral at Four Square Bible College.  He then served at Christ Green Pasture Ministries as one of the Pastors. For any verse i needed to find, he always assisted me and explained to me when i needed.  At his wake, its awesome to see and hear people speak of how my dad touched did their lives.
I will never forget the day he passed away because I was holding him, but most of all I will always remember many memories of love and laughter with him.

2006

We love you very much Daddy!
