We started using Solar light bulbs in our beach house called, Nokero, and it offers a great benefit of saving from having to buy kerosene or generator gas for us. We also have fluorescent lights powered by a diesel generator when we really need bright lights for eating dinner at night.  After having dinner, we can shut the genset down and go back to using the solar bulbs for saving, it just doesn’t as bright a light as the flourescent lights, but it definetely does the job for just about what we need.
