The jewelry district Los Angeles is famous for carries a huge variety of watches, rings, necklaces and other jewelry. Some fancy ideas that you can think of are jeweled pens, lighters, business card cases and paperweights. You can literally find any type of jewelry you might think of in the some 5000 stores in the downtown area of Los Angeles. The Los Angeles jewelry district is also famous for its high range of customizability options. Because there are so many stores, it is simply unfeasible to try to visit them all to make an informed decision about what jewelry you would like to buy. Therefore, one of the best solutions to this dilemma is to find one of the shops that are appealing to you or one that you have some kind of a coupon or discount for and to ask them to custom-create a piece of jewelry for you. Literally anything can be done! Some of the most popular options are to simply get a pendant or a bracelet with your name or an initial on it. These can be bought completely blank and the jeweler will engrave whatever you would like onto it for a small fee. They are not only great for yourself, but make wonderful presents as well for birthdays and the holidays. One of the best surprises people get is when they get a pendant engraved with their name or initial. You can also get custom made rings and even change the size of your ring. If you are not sure about the size of someone’s finger who you are buying a ring for, then you simply go to one of the stores in the jewelry district Los Angeles has and ask them to modify the ring so it fits the person’s finger.

El Nido Palawan to Manila Direct Flight via ITI

I first went to El Nido in January 2010 via Puerto Princesa on a more than five hours of Van ride, and the roads were still being done then. We don’t know how to do it again on the way back to Manila so we flew a Direct Flight from El Nido to Manila via Island Transvoyager, and I’ve been taking it since then whenever I have no errands to do in Puerto Princesa.

It’s just an hour of scenic flight! Fare is P 6,750 one way. If you are booking an El Nido to Manila flight, you have to contact Arts Cafe in El Nido and if Manila to El Nido, you have to contact Island Transvoyager in Manila.

Watch the video of me onboard and how it’s like on the flight. I would strongly recommend you bring an ear plug handy. And trim down on your luggage because only 10 kilos is allowed per person. Extras will be charged accordingly.

2 Tropical Beach House must haves

I flew with my brother-in-law and his soon to be wife to Palawan to check out the progress of our beach house in El Nido, and it is starting to come into shape with the roofing installed. We used Metalplas short for Metallic Plastic for roofing, it’s a new German Technology design made in the Philippines, engineered primarily for extreme weather conditions such as extremely hot or cold. In the case of a tropical country the Philippines, it is very applicable being Rust-proof, fire-resistant and super Cool.

In a few days, our shipment for another German Technology and German made Solar Panel is arriving and will be installed. This means our comfort level will increase significantly from having no power or generator powered (expensive on fuel), to virtually cost free power. Of course, the solar panels are not in-expensive, but it’s a one time investment that will recoup it’s cost in five years or so if we paid monthly for electricity on-grid.

So yes, 2 of the Tropical Beach House must haves are:

1. A very good roofing that could withstand the elements and keep you cool and comfortable underneath it!

2. A Solar Power Electric Source

And on a very good note, we were told that a  few days ago, Governor Mitra of Palawan visited our area and announced that soon the road will be done for a four wheeler to be able to pass through our place.  It is believed that P40 Million has been budgeted to scrape a road from Bucana to Diapila in El Nido, Palawan with the goal of promoting farmers to market accessibility and to boost tourism in still isolated beaches of El Nido such as Duli Beach, Dagmay Beach and Diapila.

Kudos to the offices of Mayor Lim and Governor Mitra and of course P-Noy! Maraming Salamat po!
