Mother’s Day

Mother's Day date with my wonderful Mom at El Nido, Palawan

The last time I dated my Mom in El Nido, was 2 years ago, during my birthday! This time it’s her day as a Mom. I am sooo very blessed to have a wonderful mother, I am sure my siblings would say the same. In fact, a lot of our friends call our Mom, Mommy too…She is a picture of what Proverbs 31 says of a noble woman.

Her life has been dedicated to serving the Lord by being one who prays for her family a lot, including extended family…and friends too, aside from her church related requests.

Your sentimental gifts for mother’s day doesn’t have to be limited to material things all the time, but a special time together, dining out or travelling together can top off an already great gift.

Even our housekeeper who we accept as a family member, having been with us for more than 20 years knows mommy cannot be disturbed when she is praying.  Mom is a cool travel buddy too :-) We go even abroad together and she’s a go go girl lol…even at almost 70 year old.

We are truly grateful for her example of commitment and dedication to the family unit. She worked as a school teacher and outside that, it’s pretty much us, my dad and children where her life revolves, which of course is an act of worship to God for her. She is also an example of patience, for it’s not easy raising 4 kids, with ages 5 years apart of different personalities and demands lol. We are now all professionals because she values education and emphasized it’s importance for us to have. I remember when we just moved from the province, I couldn’t catch up on English (subject) at school, so she took a leave from her teaching job, to teach me first!

She’s not the kind who cooks, but she can when we request her, we’re not rich but my parents made sure we were provided with our basic needs, and it seems it included our own nannies, since both of them worked. And though she doesn’t cook, she personally does the marketing to make sure our favorites were prepared and our diets are as close to healthy as can be.

She is also an example of preparedness. In whatever she ventured into, she always did the preparation ahead of time. Whether it’s her lesson plan for school or our clothes to bring (when we were little) to a vacation or meals that needs to be cooked (by helper) to bring for a long trip. She is also very punctual! One time my dad was late to pick her up from school where she taught, so she went ahead to go home, after that time, my dad would always come in time for mom’s class dismissal lol.

She has more attributes than I can type right now, I am just to thankful to God for an awesome Mom, everyday should be a Mother’s day…

2 Major Characteristics of the Fingerprint

No Gravatar

The fingerprint has 2 major characteristics.

1) It is Unique-There are billions of people in the world, yet each has a different pattern.

2) It is Constant – The pattern doesn’t change from when it is formed from conception till death when the flesh return to dust.

— God created you and I with attention, with mindfulness and love…He said in Jeremiah 1:5 ….Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…Psalm 139:14 says we were  fearfully and wonderfully made!

Imagine that number of people  (billions) and only a very little space (tip of the finger) for God to make patterns different from everybody else. Plus he has to make sure it will not change as we grow from infant to old age…I don’t know about you but I found my Creator amazing and loving to give me such detail, and attention.

Claim the blessings God has for you, because He surely prepared a lot. He knows the challenges and the trials we are to face, and so he brings situations that will build us up so we can overcome them.  Psalm 32:8 says.. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.

He reminds us further in Proverbs 3:5-6 to …. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

You see, God is all knowing… He knows that we can be weak and feeling lost… but he promised to lead and guide, all we have to do is come to him and ask… James 1:5 even says…If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you

Everything we need in this life can be found in the truth of the word of God… if you can believe in a saying…by any body famous… then you can believe in the Word of the one who died for you, Jesus Christ! I do!

You are important and God has a plan for your life! Today is a good day to worship the living and loving God  who made us! Have a happy Sunday.

This would be a good movie to watch if you got the time…
