How to keep your faith in College

College is a time where you learn about many things that you may have never even heard of before. It’s a place to question and a place to develop your ideas of who you are and what you want to do with your life. However, it’s also a time of insecurity and, sometimes, loneliness. Due to the many stresses that can overcome a student during their time in college, there is a significant risk of good Christian students losing their faith. This isn’t due to any particular lack of faith, any particular lack of love for the Lord, or due to any other personality flaws. It’s simply a matter of human nature that you should question your beliefs deeply while being so constantly bombarded by conflicting beliefs.

Despite the many temptations that come with college life, there are a lot of different ways for you to keep your faith while you’re in college that you may have never thought of. These are very simple things that anyone can do and you don’t need to have any special personality traits for these tricks to work. All you need is a love of your Savior and the will to keep pressing onward.

Avoidance

Everyone has triggers that cause them to have impure thoughts or question their faith. For some people, alcohol has an impact on their inhibitions and can lead down a dark path. These triggers are different for everyone and it’s important for you to first identify what these triggers are for you so they can be avoided. The truth is that you can never be led down a path of lost faith if you never allow yourself to be in those types of situations. This doesn’t mean that you need to avoid going to parties or having fun with friend. After all, that’s all part of the college experience. However, it does mean that you should think long and hard about the types of people you are hanging out with before you go to these parties.

Reinforcement

The truth is that even avoiding these situations won’t totally protect you from issues while in college. To help keep yourself in the right frame of mind, it’s important for you to find like-minded people on your college campus that share your values. This can be an interfaith prayer group or perhaps a group that is more specific to your denomination. This type of community reinforcement can be one of the best ways to keep your faith in college. It’s easy to find colleges that have a Christian focus if you look at online resource sites like www.online-christian-colleges.org.

Stay Strong

In the end, you should always allow God to be your guide and follow that guidance. As long as you put your trust in the Lord, nothing bad can come of your time in college.

Ways to Be a Great Christian

Millions of Christians all over the world have discovered the powerful and loving message of Jesus Christ. It has enabled people to live compassionate, honest, responsible, and joyful lives. However, the temptations of life can easily lead one astray. Here are some ways to help you be a great Christian, so that you can stay on track on follow your true purpose in life.

Practice the Teachings of Christianity in Every Situation

The environment in a church is wonderful for developing a peaceful and loving mind, as well as for experiencing feelings of kindness towards other people. However, for many people, once they leave church and encounter the daily stresses of a competitive and face-paced world, many of the teachings get thrown out the window. It is important to have awareness of your actions. Pay close attention to how you behave in different circumstances and, if you experience negative emotions such as anger, sadness or anxiety, pause for a moment and reflect on the teachings and how they would help you effectively handle the situation in a loving and compassionate manner.

Purify

It is quite easy to judge and notice the shortcomings of other people. However, we often fail to notice or refuse to look at our own faults. In order to best help the world around us and project the message of Christ outward, we must purify ourselves internally. At the end of every day, take stock your behavior and how you could have done things differently. Acknowledge your faults and mistakes, and pray for forgiveness. Trust in God. Learn to universally accept and love yourself just as God would. Every moment can be a symbolic baptism as you purify yourself in the infinite love of God.

Love Everyone Unconditionally

One of greatest gifts that Jesus gave to the world was his teachings on love, particularly unconditional love. God leaves nothing out in his expression of love. It is whole and complete. Love is accessible to you as long as you are open to it. Follow what Jesus has modeled for us and love everyone unconditionally, despite their flaws or differences.

Pray Regularly

It is important to pray regularly. It creates the conditions for a peaceful, loving, and happy mind and opens you up to the omnipresent love of God. Recite meaningful passages from the Bible. Consider looking into a Christian counseling program to learn more about the role of prayer and helping others in the Christian tradition. Contemplate the message of Christ and how it applies to your life. Find solace in prayer and feel the love of God.

2 Major Characteristics of the Fingerprint

No Gravatar

The fingerprint has 2 major characteristics.

1) It is Unique-There are billions of people in the world, yet each has a different pattern.

2) It is Constant – The pattern doesn’t change from when it is formed from conception till death when the flesh return to dust.

— God created you and I with attention, with mindfulness and love…He said in Jeremiah 1:5 ….Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…Psalm 139:14 says we were  fearfully and wonderfully made!

Imagine that number of people  (billions) and only a very little space (tip of the finger) for God to make patterns different from everybody else. Plus he has to make sure it will not change as we grow from infant to old age…I don’t know about you but I found my Creator amazing and loving to give me such detail, and attention.

Claim the blessings God has for you, because He surely prepared a lot. He knows the challenges and the trials we are to face, and so he brings situations that will build us up so we can overcome them.  Psalm 32:8 says.. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.

He reminds us further in Proverbs 3:5-6 to …. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

You see, God is all knowing… He knows that we can be weak and feeling lost… but he promised to lead and guide, all we have to do is come to him and ask… James 1:5 even says…If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you

Everything we need in this life can be found in the truth of the word of God… if you can believe in a saying…by any body famous… then you can believe in the Word of the one who died for you, Jesus Christ! I do!

You are important and God has a plan for your life! Today is a good day to worship the living and loving God  who made us! Have a happy Sunday.

This would be a good movie to watch if you got the time…
