Sharing with you notes taken on Word of God heard at Victory Christian U Belt on the Series “ABC” – Leaving the Elementary Teachings and going on to Maturity.
The text is on Hebrews 5:11-6:2 (New International Version)
11We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn. 12In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
Hebrews 6
1Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death,[a] and of faith in God, 2instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
God has a lot in store for you and i.
Remember the time when music can heard only from a Transistor Radio, to walk man, Mp3, now we have the Ipod, and the Itouch. Even technology progresses, things evolve, so must we.
God doesnt want us to stay the same. Be a teacher already. It’s time to leave the elementary teachings.
Did you start out as a baby? if a human being, then most likely yes!

It’s okey to act like a baby, walk like a baby and talk like a baby, but not if its been 5, 10, 15 years. Imagine if you still wore diapers today

It’s not cute to remain a baby.
Staying as a baby can happen in our Christian life too. It’s not cute when there is no change in our life. There must be signs of Growth, Development and Progress in us.
If we are struggling about the same temptations thought the years and battling the same issues, then there is a reason to be concerned.
Still have issues with your temper? With Lust? with infidelity? with mishandling money? with treating your family members?
We should be becoming Christ like.
Can be grade 1 for 10 years?
For some of us. its
Sometimes committed, sometime not?
Sometimes chooses what is right, sometimes compromises?
Whats the difference between those who grow and those who stagnate?
Why are some of us trapped in a cycle and reverting back to old ways. Committed then backslide.
You know what the difference is? Its the Foundation!
Solid Rock foundation will ensure progress
Psalm 11:3 (New International Version)
3 When the foundations are being destroyed,
what can the righteous do [a] ?”
We have to move from Pt A (stagnated life) to Pt B (progressive life)
Growing from Strength to Strength. Faith to Faith, Glory to Glory!
Fruitfullness and the character of God must be evident in us.
Generally we want advancement. No one plans to commit and plan to backslide.
We can ask God to help us be faithful and finish strong.
We can’t afford to just have a good facade but a bad foundation.
You are surely familiar with the Tower of Pisa
in 1990 it was started restorations because it’s been increasingly learning. and
USD 27 Million has been spent on it to support it.
Let us not be contented in just looking good. Let’s desire to have a good foundation.
How do we build a strong foundation?
How is foundation built in the life of a Christian
Matthew 7: 24
Matthew 7:24 (New International Version)
The Wise and Foolish Builders
24″Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Are we hearing the Word? Are we giving time to reading the scripture and taking what it says to heart, and living it? We have a decision to make. Build a strong or a weak foundation.
Hear the Word and do what it says, or ignore it and chose our way.
Jesus is a strong foundation.

In 1990 it was started restoration because it’s been increasingly learning, and USD 27 Million has been spent on it to support it. Having a weak foundation can have devastating and costly effects in our lives when the storm comes. Having a strong foundation will keep up firm in the midst of a storm.
Let us not be content in just looking good. Let’s desire to have a good foundation.

Jesus is a strong foundation. Obeying and not just knowing his Word will surelycreate a solid foundation.
Part of the Foundation is having true repentance, getting Baptized and and prayed for (laying of hands), more on these will be shared in the next couple of services on this series, the ABC.
