Nissan Van for Tourism Transport

No Gravatar

I was encouraging my niece to consider a Van Transport business in a tourist destination for a potential business, since she is trying to add up to her income as an employee.  The tourism industry is really growing and so a business like this is very viable. What is important is to be in the right place to operate it with lots of tourist, have a good driver who is careful and also know how to fix it when it breaks, at least the minor issues.

The vehicle doesn’t have to be brand new at the start, but it should not also be too old that it will require so much maintenance cost and reliability on the road for long distance travel can be compromised.  Maximum of a 6 years model is recommended if budget is also a consideration, just have to be well checked before using it for business. It’s a must to replace parts sooner than later, preferably with new tires, shocks, and bushings. Of course, the engine has to be good, with no oil leaks, Aircon must be strong, the interior must be clean and presentable.

Let’s promote that really, it’s More Fun in the Philippines!

We travelled from Boracay via Kalibo and straight to Subic in one day! Oh my it was an all day trip… A van ride from Willys resort to the Jetty Port in Cagban, then a 20 minute Ferry to Caticlan, followed by a 1 hour or maybe more Bus Ride to Kalibo Airport. A van ride to eat lunch and back to the Airport, then a Victory Liner bus ride from the NAIA Terminal 3 was 4 hours to Subic Bay. By the time we got to our Subic Resort, it was time for dinner just to stay overnight to have an Ocean Adventure the next day and go back to Manila!

All of us was saying, that the Ocean Adventure better be worth it with all those travelling! Oh my, it was a Blast! Totally once in a lifetime experience to swim with a dolphin, literally! It was a the Dolphin who fetched me on the shore to the platfarm, I rode it!

They did a lot of tricks, like jump, spin and a lot more…spin with us that is… Cost is P4,500 (USD 100) if I recall it correctly. That’s per person. The fee includes watching all the shows but we really didn’t have time anymore. The experience was definitely worth it. The only think I didn’t like was the photos they took of us had to be purchased per shot. So we ended up paying something like P3,000 for all the photos saved on a CD.

Still had a flight to catch the next day, so we decided to look for a much faster way back to Manila, at first we were going to take a chopper but the resort is having renovations and it can not land, we were calling the airport for clearance but couldn’t reach them either. The resort we stayed at is just walking distance to the Ocean Adventure but it was far from the Shopping area where most restaurants are.  So if you are staying a few days in Subic, it’s best to get a hotel closer to the conveniences and just drive to the Ocean Adventure park. The Manager of the Subic resort (sorry I couldn’t remember the name) was helpful and introduced to us the owner who let us know of a Subic Seaplane that could take us back to Manila in 30 minutes.  We made the arrangement and was in Manila in time for lunch.

How to get to Subic from Manila and vice versa in 30 Minutes

We went to Subic just to swim with the Dolphins and play with the Whale, so after we got done with that, we wanted to hurry back to Manila and skip the 4 hour ride we took from the Terminal 3 to Subic. We got so tired doing the land travel since we came all the way from Boracay the day before our Subic Sea Adventure, and it was via Kalibo.

It’s great the owner of the resort hooked us up with Subic Seaplane’s owner and pilot I guess, who is a retired Navy Seal or something.  We took a 4 seater Cessna plane that took off from Subic close to the Subic Bay Yacht Club and took a scenic flight over the mountains of Bataan, Pampanga, and landed at the Manila Yacht Club area in Roxas Blvd., in Manila Bay. The entire flight was 30 minutes and costed  P14,000.

Since the plane can only have 4 passengers each time, including the pilot, we had to take 2 trips. After  the plane dropped us off, he had to fly back for another 30 minutes back to subic, and pick up 2 of our friends who were left there. While waiting for an hour, we ate at the Chinese restaurant right next to where we landed.
