I enjoyed my quick visit to Baguio

I’ve been wanting to go up to Baguio since a couple of months ago and i finally had the reason to go. I went to see my client and her friend who is also interested in investing in Grass Residences. I stayed with my cousin Angela, a student at University of Baguio.
I really liked the cool weather, the view is just great with all those pine trees and landscaped gardens, log homes, and the lake. I didn’t have the chance to go around, just basically at SM Baguio and riding around in a cab and walked along the road enjoying the breeze of Baguio. I would love to be able to stay there for a month long vacation lol…hopefully one day we can have a family vacation home there. The challenge would just be maintaining the house because of the moist. Somebody will have to live there to keep it well. Doors and windows should be opened to let in air, furnace filters changed, and entire house cleaned for it not to smell.
Fare at Victory Liner is P 650 one way (Express), a bus with CR is P 700 one way, schedule is 11 AM, 12 noon and 1PM. They also have the regular aircon bus with fare at P 430 one way, but with two stops and seats are quite cramped together. It departs hourly.

I got to listen to the Necrological Speech while sick in bed (fever) and got to know more about out former President Cory Aquino. My Mom and I can’t help shed a tear at the loss of a great person and leader who led by example. She is probably the only state leader who has touched her people deeply and personally and made the most sacrifice. The People Power EDSA Revolution in 1986 was the very first political activity that I got to witness. At first year high school and very apolitical, I wasnt there for politics, it just so happened that friends of the family went there to bring boxes of “Pandesal” (Bread) to the soldiers and I came along with permission from my parents of course and handed bread to hungry soldiers who were dutifully serving the nation.
If there is something that God wanted the nation to do, it is for her to humble before Him and Pray. This is exactly what Pres. Cory did. She prayed for the nation and believed in it, to them, Filipinos worth dying for. A lot of Filipinos (including myself) is in one way or another guilty of saying negative things about our nation and our people, I ask God for forgiveness about that. Instead of us saying negative words, we should pray and bless our nation, believe God to bless her. To find the good about the Philippines and talk only about the positive things and our hope for the Philippines.
I thank God for seeing in action a great person in this lifetime who was passionate about her Faith, her Nation, her Family. There are so many one can learn from her.
1. Faith in God. Always came to God about anything.
2. Faithfulness and love for her husband, Ninoy. The loyalty, the dedication was there to the very end.
3. Love and Care she gave her family. She is very hands-on in caring for her children and their families.
4. Self-lessness in serving others. Even no longer a President, she continued to serve the country as a private citizen.
5. Honesty and Integrity. I like the story about her grandson asking about a jar of chocolate of it belonged to the Filipino People, and when Pres. Cory said “no, i bought them for you”, its the only time he took a chocolate from the jar. And her not asking for even a free ticket or an upgrade at the Philippine Airlines.
6. A wonderful friend. Not the fair weather kind who is around only during good times, but always willing to support.
7. Humility and. A lot of those who shared talked about the display of her humility
There is so much more…
I’ve been wanting to write and express my deepest sympathy in my blog since several days ago but couldn’t finish it coz i was feeling really sick. Thank you Madam President for being a positive impact to me and to the Filipino people, you are such a role model. Thank you for being the instrument of bringing our country democracy.

Pres. Cory and the Cardinal are very good friends. Cardinal Jaime Lachica Sin is my grandfathers first cousin, we used to attend church at the Manila Cathedral a lot to listen to him when i was little. Only Archbishops are allowed to hold a funeral service at the Manila Cathedral but exception to this is given to honor Pres. Cory for the honorable life she has lived.
