Praying for God’s protection!
In a recent trip to El Nido, Palawan where we are developing a camp site and our would be house, my cousin Rene, niece Ching together with our housemate Tess and I had to take a BUS to the nearest place to take a small boat ride to our place.  I took my car once and the road was terrible for a car plus I’d rather sit and enjoy the great views than get busy driving. And along the way we had a very serious bus trouble that almost took our lives. Thank God for saving us all from a mishap. I am truly grateful to my husband, my mom and my siblings and some really good friends who prays for me especially during my travels.
Just a few minutes off from town is a winding road going up and down hill, when on a curve, our bus driver was turning the wheel but the bus won’t follow.  I thank God for the prayer he answered even before we left the terminal. The bus stopped just a couple of feet away from a sure fall by the cliff, I am so grateful that the driver had presence of mind. The lady owner of the bus was even seated in the front, and would not have been spared if we fell, Ching and I was seated right behind the driver and would have been a very critical spot too.

Our bus kept going the direction of the arrow and stopped right there!

We found out later that 2 buses have fallen off the same spot few months earlier and there had been casualties.  My husband and I who was out of the country then and I texted and he said if no bus pass by, that we just hire trikes to take us to Bucana to catch the boat waiting for us.
On the picture is where we could  have fallen down if it happened, 50 feet down easily. I thank God for the angels He sent to really stop it.

We made it safely to our place! God is awesome. We later learned that it took 3 hours for the bus to get fixed and made it to Bucana safely too.
What happened was the steering wheels connection to the steering rod gave in! Imagine that!!! Praise God really, I believe my cousins, niece and I still have a lot of missions in life to accomplish!

The steering wheel connector to the rod detached! oh my..

If our boat is on the water, we were to take a straight boat ride from town to our place. This boat should be back in water soon… Wowislands Travel and Tours will operate it as an Island Hopping boat for tourists who wants to see the lagoons and explore the white sand beaches of El Nido Palawan.

Wowislands Travel and Tours will soon launch trips to this place for those want to enjoy beach camping. Those diving to the nearby Islands North of Palawan are most welcome to make Dagmay, Teneguiban, El Nido, Palawan a camping stop over. It will have clean comfort rooms and shower areas as well as cold drinks available for a more comfortable stay! So it will just be a half way roughing it kind of camping! :-)

Charts Resort Alona Beach, Panglao, Bohol

After checking out at Bohol Beach Club, we moved to Charts Alona, a very nice German managed resort located at a corner street just a few minutes walk to Panglao’s white beach.

We were greeted by Lenny, she was really nice and accommodating as she gave us a tour of the place, made us view the different rooms they have. We got a room at the ground floor. The place is so homey, it’s like you are just in your very own vacation home. It has a cute swimming pool and a nice garden, which we enjoyed right after we settled our stuff in the room. It’s place is Mediterranean in architecture with three separate structures with a few room each.

While swimming, owner Sonja arrived and we had a nice talk with her by the pool. We enjoyed playing with her dog too, which was allowed only to roam around the garden but not jump in the pool. Sonja has been in the travel industry for a long time and has travelled the world, and so it’s really her passion to do what she is doing. She visited bohol and fell in love with the place and decided to build her very own resort.

Charts has a nice cafe on the second floor where they serve nice coffee and snacks. We enjoyed a nice American Breakfast there.

PROS: Very homey, nice pool, rooms are very clean, staff are friendly. Real value for money. Owner provide personal touch to everything. Excellent for a private get away.

CONS: Not along the beach front. But to us, it’s actually okey because it’s away from the noise of the beach nightlife. Limited rooms, so book ahead.

Would i stay there again? Definitely, over and over.

Worlds Best Tropical Island Beach

It feels so great to be in the Island of Boracay again, after a couple of years of not going. My last visit was 2005, i think i went 3x that year.  I plan to go back there next month.

It’s my first time in Boracay after the flow of getting to the Island was changed, it was last year i think. Before, the ferry boat from the Jetty port Caticlan directly goes to the beach front where you get off anywhere from Station 1 to 3. Now, the boat it takes you to one drop off point (shorter ride which is good), where there are minivans you could take for about P50 per pax that would bring you along the Main Road and take you to your Hotel/Resort.  Since most of the resort are on the Beach Front, the minivan will likely to drop you off at the main road and you will have to take a 5minute walk to your resort.  If you have made arrangements to be fetched, then their would probably be a person or group of persons who would carry your luggage. If you are travelling on a Packaged tour, you can arrange all your transfers with them.

In my opinion, the current way of getting to the Island is better in terms of making the Beach Front look better, without a lot of boats.  The stretch became more beautiful…

Before, you can imagine that boats line up after another and while you swim, you keep seeing luggages and arriving tourists coming. Now, you can just enjoy the pleasure of enjoying the beach view, unobstructed. It’s me on the photo with my nephew Jaepher.

Welcome to a greater BORACAY!
