I had driver installation problems but its a good thing, PC Live provided me some drivers, phone assistance
and got some help on the instructions at the HP forum too.
I just followed this instructions from Cheryl G.
Most XP drivers from V6700TX will work for your model. Install Intel Chipset Installation Utility for ICH8 first and reboot before other drivers.(do not use Realtek)
(see below also before continuing with other drivers):

mp;product=3651452〈=en
.Net Framework(before Quick Launch):
==============
Atheros Ar5007(install only the drivers,no extra Utilies):

===============
MS UAA(required with a reboot before Conexant audio):

Conexant SmartAudio 221:

Use this for audio.Unzip to a folder,make note of location.
From Device Manager,right click “Audio Device on HD”,choose Update driver,
No to connect,
Install from a list or specific location,
Select Don’t Search, I will choose the driver to install,
For the Hardware Type select ‘Show All Devices’
Remove the check from “Show Compatible Hardware” and click on “Have Disk”.
Next…browse to the unzipped folder and choose the “WiSVHe5.inf”.
Ignore XP when it complains.
Reboot.
Soft Data Fax Modem:

However, the Wifi Button is still in color amber instead of blue, and the built in mic doesnt seem to work.
I use voip a lot so that’s a problem to me, i used a headset instead. But would really want the built in to work so i don’t have to carry around a headset all the time.
PC Live gave me a Memory upgrade to 1.5GB Ram, a 1 GB Flash Drive, plus an instruction how to claim a 1GB Ipod Shuffle from HP (i got a call already saying it’s ready for pick- up.)
If you are looking for cheap laptops, consider getting at least a realiable brand, even if they offer lower specs than generic higher specs, and make sure it has warranty in case something comes up.
