Ms. Bhaby See of People’s Journal contacted me to share about my blogging experience, I felt honored to be given an opportunity to tell my story.

I wasn’t an internet user yet until about 5 years ago when my cousin Paul introduced me to the World Wide Web, its the only time when i learned about signing up for an email and learning about Friendster. Emailing and Friendster was probably the only reason i would go online. At work it was my assistant or staff who did online research for me.  Then in 2006, i heard the word blog.

I started blogging a few days after attending the Iblog2 in April 18, 2006 at the University of the Philippines. I came along with Gail who was going to be a speaker at the Iblog2 Summit without any idea what it was about, i just know she was having fun doing it, and i said i wanted to learn, and so she tagged me along, she was also the one who set up my blog for me, thanks to her. I was seated next to Dean Jorge Bocobo, while listening to Rebecca MacKinnon.

Manuel Viloria gave me tips what to right about, coz i had no idea what to do after the blog is set up. He said that i could simply start writing about the places i’ve been to, maybe take some photos and share travel experiences, or anything that interests me so i will never ran out of things to share. I followed his advice.

I also met other bloggers like Abe Olandres, Aileen Apolo, Janet Toral and other iblog speakers from whom i learned from. I believe they make six digit incomes from their blogs. Its them who knows a lot about blogging and probably how to make money through it.

I really am just a simple blogger, i have a lot to learn. But with a little i know, im very much open to share, i did a bit of that during the Iblog3, when i was invited to be one of the speakers. Yeah, during the iblog2 i was one of those in the audience, one year later i was one of the speakers. That’s how much fun i had doing it.

I started out with Wordpress.com’s free blogging service. Then i later on had my own private labeled blog arellevalla.com.Â

To have your own Privately labeled blog, you have to choose a domain name.

Then get a hosting service like Bluehost or Hostgator,

Then download the latest version of Wordpress

Choose a design for your blog.

I write a paragraph or two in a certain topic that they provide and a link to refer a keyword to. The money i make are not tons of money, but with the recession, lay offs and all that, any amount from another channel is a big help.Â

I encourage you to start a blog today, read about blogging online and learn more by attending seminars about it, they’re usually free. My friends and classmates Luzette, Janet, Julie, Willmar, Shane, Mark, Matet, and niece Richie have started blogging too, and now making some extra bucks out of it.

Ten Secrets of the Rich by Al Sembrano

The books i need to read are actually piling up. Thanks to the Audio CD that Al gave me, it is such a time saver for me, i just play it and still work on whatever i needed to get done. I learned a lot from listening to AL on CD and from Al Sembrano himself… in person.

I met Al sembrano a few years ago, when he contracted us to create a website for his Book which was still then in the making, and to design the book cover.

During my meetings with AL, my eyes were opened to the posibilities of making money on the internet, though i was making a bit from the website development business  already, it still was not making money online perse. I was selling websites, and i had to meet people physically to transact, close deals and earn money. Although later on, people were ordering websites online already without the need to meet them physically.

All my working life, i had had to work and be in a physical office and receive paycheck from a Company i can see and visit physically. But talking to AL, a lot of income channels he has was via the internet and without physically meeting anyone, and just receiving pay on a virtual account like Paypal or any other, and withdraw from a Philippine local bank. The ideas he shared was something so new to me, and maybe to a lot of Filipinos too.

Anyway, I learned from the CD and the book that for one to succeed, we must FIRST, THINK is a CERTAIN WAY to get RICH.  There is so much about how we have lived, and how we grew, what we saw in the Philippines (to some poverty and hopelessness), that affects the way we view life. There is a need to change our perspective, like one is to first BELIEVE that one can have more income than you already have.

Notice, that there are sooo many poor people, and there are few RICH ones. Why is it like that…simply because the rich people KNOW SOMETHING and they do it, that most of the population who are POOR DOESNT know!!!

Al shared with us how it was being poor hailing from his province in Cagayan De Oro, and how much he wanted for his situation to change, to the point of him asking the rich people he encountered of how he thinks they became or are rich.  He listed these rich peoples advices and tips and HE DID what it took to achieve his goals. To cut the long story short, AL rose from rugs to riches.

Al now would like the Filipinos like you and me who are not rich to know what he did, how he did it and why. It is all revealed in his Book “Ten Secrets of the Rich”. It can be found in any National Book Store, Powerbooks The Book is P 495.00.

I am thankful to AL because i have income channels right now that are a direct or indirect result of things he taught me.

Empowered to do business?

Are you up to earning more money? Opportunities to earn money have never been the same since the introduction of the internet and the creation of E-commerce. Even those who become extremely rich are not only businessmen in their 40’s and up, but as young as 20’s like those who started technology and internet based businesses such as Yahoo and Google. 

Well, we can ride on the things that Yahoo and Google are doing, like selling stuffs online. One can source a product that has a potential for moving them online, like gadgets, music, sports wear and the likes.

First plan what product you would like to sell, preferable sell a product that you personally are fond of and drawn to. Say you are fond of pets, so sell something related to it, like accessories, pet foods and the like.  You don’t need to buy all these products and store them in a warehouse to get started. What you can do is talk to a possible supplier, strike a deal for lower prices or a dealer’s price.  Get photos of their products (better if they have something ready, and secure permission to use it for the web), then prepare your description and sales pitch for each products.

Then plan your profit margin and all other works such as your operating procedures on how to get orders fulfilled and sent to clients. Granting you have already done your preparations and assignments, your next step is to plan your online Store.

You will need a domain name, that preferably is descriptive of your product or it can be your brand. Secure a hosting service, and a shopping cart software. You can go to ashop commerce for a full package, the could help you set up a fully operational e commerce store.
